American movie and media firm Buffalo8 has acquired the worldwide distribution rights to “Lord Curzon Ki Haveli” (Lord Curzon’s Manor) marking the primary Indian characteristic movie to carry the corporate’s banner in North America.
The darkish comedy thriller, which represents actor-filmmaker Anshuman Jha’s directorial debut, caught the distributor’s consideration throughout its European premiere at Razor Reel Flanders in Belgium, Europe’s main style movie pageant.
Buffalo8, the corporate behind Spike Lee’s “Rodney King” and Netflix’s “Conversations With a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes,” sees this acquisition as a part of its broader technique to increase its style footprint into worldwide markets.
“‘Lord Curzon’s Manor’ is a compelling story that bridges cultural and historical narratives with a unique perspective,” mentioned Grady Craig, president of Buffalo8. “This first-time director successfully delivers on a blend of black comedy and thriller genres, which is a rare combination for Indian cinema. We’re excited about the film’s ability to resonate across diverse audiences.”
The Hitchcockian homage options a powerful ensemble forged together with International Emmy nominee Arjun Mathur, Rasika Dugal, Paresh Pahuja, Tanmay Dhanania, and Zoha Rahman. Set throughout a mysterious banquet in London, the movie combines suspense, satire and social commentary.
“We are thrilled to partner with Buffalo8 for the North American release of ‘Lord Curzon Ki Haveli,’” mentioned director Jha. “Their commitment to bold, original voices and genre-pushing cinema makes them the perfect home for this film.”
He added: “‘Lord Curzon Ki Haveli’ is a truly unique cinematic experience — one that challenges how films are perceived in India and reshapes how Indian cinema is viewed globally. Buffalo8 coming on board is more than just an acquisition; it’s a powerful reaffirmation that bold, original ideas and distinctive storytelling have a place on the world stage.”
Produced by Golden Ratio Films, First Ray Films and Adya Films, “Lord Curzon Ki Haveli” not too long ago acquired certification from India’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and is predicted to hit North American theaters later this 12 months. Further distribution particulars are forthcoming.
